When it’s time to go

Only you can set yourself free — but sometimes, it helps to see your own strength reflected in someone else.
I found mine in these words from Nick Cave:

“And if you want to bleed, just bleed…
And if you want to leave, don’t breathe…don’t breathe a word…
Just step away…and let the world turn.”

If something doesn’t feel right — if you feel like you’re betraying who you are — if you want to bleed, or you want to leave,
you don’t need to justify yourself.

You don’t owe anyone anything.
You don’t have to earn your freedom.

It’s already yours.

You don’t have to forgive.
There doesn’t have to be a big exit.

Closure isn’t something someone else can give you.
And you can’t give it to anyone else, even if the demand you owe them that much.

The world will keep spinning without you.
Let it take care of tomorrow — and take this moment for yourself.

Step out of whatever doesn’t feel right.

Do what you want, even if it doesn’t make sense.
Especially if it doesn’t make sense.

Logic doesn’t know you.
You do.
